MISSOULA - The search for a University of Montana Athletic Director continues.
Board of Regents associate commissioner Kevin McRae says the recruitment process continues and they expect to announce the finalists sometime next
week.
In an earlier interview McRae told us they are trying to narrow down a list of some 60 applicants. Once finalists are chosen, they will come to campus for interviews that could include a meet and greet with the public.
In spring, UM President Royce Engstrom fired Athletic director Jim O'Day and Grizzly head football coach Robin Pflugrad, saying the school needed a
change in leadership. Jean Gee is serving as interim athletics director, and has also applied for the permanent position.
