Montana lost a 4-3 decision to the Lobos last year in Boise, Idaho. Junior Heather Davidson and sophomore Ashley Mackey both produced singles victories and Davidson also partnered with senior Lauren Gibson to hammer out a doubles win in the 2011 contest.

The Lobos are coming off a good fall season with a strong finish at the Boise State Invitational and the SDSU Fall Invitational in San Diego.

New Mexico is led by, 2011 All-Mountain West selection, sophomore Michaela Bezdickova who fought her way to the round of 16 at the ITA Mountain Regionals where she lost a close match in three sets to Sarah Pham of Utah.

Bezdickova holds a No. 9 ranking in the Mountain region and New Mexico is captained by third year head coach Roy Cañada.

New Mexico will open its spring season with Utah Friday in Bozeman before it squares off against Montana on Saturday.
