MISSOULA - Next week, Missoula resident Lucy France will start as the University of Montana's new legal counsel, according to a press released issued today, replacing David Aronofsky, who retired at the end of 2012.
UM's lawyer is part of the Montana University System legal team and represents UM at legal and administrative forums.
France graduated from the UM School of Law in 1993, worked at a Missoula law firm and served since 2008 as director of the university's Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office.
France also chairs the Diversity Tax Force.
A quote from UM President Royce Engstrom said, "She has been a tremendous asset to the University and will continue to be so in her new role."
France starts Feb. 20.
