UPDATE: Boy struck in Thursday night accident dies

BILLINGS - The 16-year-old boy hit by a truck in Lockwood Thursday evening died in the hospital Friday due to injuries sustained in the accident.

Dustin Freese, of the Billings area, was walking on Becraft Lane near Starlight Drive around 5:40 p.m. Thursday with another boy.

The Montana Highway Patrol says two boys were walking east along the roadway when a pickup truck - also eastbound, hit the pedestrian closest to the road.

Trooper Eli Wolfe said the boys were wearing dark clothing and had their backs to traffic. An ambulance took the 16-year old Billings boy to St. Vincent Healthcare.

Bill Jones, Yellowstone County Cororner, said Freese died from blunt force injuries.

The 71-year old male driver of the pickup truck - has not been charged.
