LIBBY- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has deployed a flood team to Libby Dam to help monitor the water flow and to reduce flooding.

The Kootenai River Basin was forecast to rise because of Tuesday's rains as well as the already record-breaking precipitation received upstream from the dam.

The area is already sitting at 260% above the average precipitation amount for the month of June and the Koocanusa Reservoir is rising about 1.5 feet per day, and that's expected to continue.

The flood team is in place to provide assistance to areas affected by flooding.
