MISSOULA- What a fantastic holiday we're experiencing across the northern Rockies! You know, it's this holiday in particular that we're always hoping for perfect weather and as Chrissy Kohler said this morning, "Mother Nature isn't disappointing us"!
For the fireworks tonight, we'll see clear skies, calm conditions and temps in the low to mid 60s.
High pressure is just now building in allowing for this beautiful weather and the good news is that it's not going anywhere quick.
Over the next several days, expect mostly sunny skies with only isolated afternoon showers/thunderstorms (they look very few & far between) & highs on the rise. As a matter of fact, we could see some of the hottest temps so far this year at the tail end of the weekend as we approach the low 100s!
More specifically, Thursday expect 80s, Friday 80s & low 90s, Saturday upper 80s to low 90s & pretty much 90s across the board Sunday into Tuesday or Wednesday of next week!
With this summery stretch arriving, remember to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks, try to avoid strenuous activity (especially during the afternoons) & don't leave your KIDS or PETS in the vehicles!
* On a side note, a Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice for the Kootenai River below Libby Dam. It's expected to remain at or above flood stage (27.5').
