MISSOULA - The system that moved through Wednesday night brought freezing rain and light drizzle to many valley locations.
Snow accumulation was little to none, and black ice is the main concern for Thursday morning.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for the Lower Clark Fork Region, Mission, Missoula, Bitterroot, and Flathead valleys, West Glacier Region, Kootenai / Cabinet Region and the Potomac / Seeley Lake Region.
The rain / snow mix will linger until mid-morning Thursday and clear by early afternoon. Daytime highs will reach temperatures in the upper 30s for Missoula.
Overnight conditions will remain dry with mostly cloudy skies temperatures in the mid-20s.
This weekend a stronger system is expected to bring moderate to heavy snowfall to portions of southwest Montana. This could impact travel especially through higher terrain and Lolo Pass.
