MISSOULA - We've got a couple more days of the heat here in Western Montana before a front rolls in mid week. We'll see some cooler temperatures and even a bit of rain before the end of the week.

A ridge of high pressure is maintaining its control over the Northern Rockies allow for the heat to continue for Sunday. Our highs will return to the low to mid 90s tomorrow after overnight lows drop into the 40s and low 50s.

We are watching a short wave that is moving north-northeast from the coast. This will increase our clouds overnight and give us a good mix of sun and clouds tomorrow. We could also see a few isolated, dry storms develop across Southwest Montana during the afternoon.

Sunny skies return in full force for Monday as the shortwave travels off to the east. We'll also continue to see those warmer than average temperatures as our highs get back into to the upper 80s to low 90s.

Tuesday is the day to watch this week as a low pressure system is expected to roll through the region. We'll see the chance for showers and storms increase Tuesday afternoon and into the day on Wednesday. The storms will bring some much need rain but also some gusty winds.

The front will also bring some cooler temperatures to Western Montana. Our highs on Tuesday will still be in the upper 80s to low 90s but Wednesday we'll drop to the upper 70s to low 80s and hover in the low to mid 80s through the rest of the work week.
