MISSOULA - We finally got some relief from the heat today with temperatures only making it to the mid 70s to low 80s this afternoon. We'll get one more day of the cool temps and scattered storms before warming back up again.

A ow pressure system moving through the Northern Rockies is combining with monsoonal moisture from the desert southwest to bring a good amount of clouds to Western Montana. We saw the storms move through last night and early this morning, but the rest of the day brought some drier conditions. We'll see another round of storms move through this evening and overnight with some storms lingering into the day on Sunday.

On top of that, a cooler air mass has moved in and we're expecting some mild temperatures over the next 24 hours. Due to cloud cover tonight, lows will only drop into the upper 60s to low 60s. But tomorrow will be another day similar to today with highs back in the upper 70s to low 80s. Enjoy it because from Monday onward, we're looking to warm back up with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s.

Next week, we'll move back into our typical July weather with dry, sunny conditions in the morning and the increasing chance for afternoon thunderstorms as monsoonal moisture surges our way combining with instability due to daytime heating.
