MISSOULA - After a beautiful weekend moisture will break down that ridge of high pressure on Monday, meaning valley locations will see occasional rain or snow showers today, which will be decreasing tonight.
The day time highs will be in the low to mid 40s for the valley locations, meaning that temperatures are sitting about three-to-six degrees warmer than normal.
A stronger system will build on Tuesday night into Wednesday. Most precipitation will be centered over Idaho, although western Montana valleys could see rain showers overnight and throughout the day on Wednesday.
The mountains and passes along the Idaho/Montana border are likely to see 2" to 4" inches of new snow during this time period. We will dry it out starting Thursday continuing into the beginning of the weekend.
The only main change is that day time temperatures will be a few degrees cooler.
