MISSOULA- A Red Flag Warning in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday for gusty winds and low humidities across the Bitterroot National Forest. The National Weather Service Office in Missoula reports that the Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
MISSOULA- The Butler Fire burning outside of Frenchtown saw a little growth on Tuesday, but fire officials say that suppression efforts have kept the fire to approximately 100 acres.
MISSOULA- The Falls Point fire, about 25 miles from Clearwater Crossing, has burned 300 acres since first being spotted earlier this week. The lightning-caused fire in a remote area of the Scapegoat Wilderness on the Seeley Lake Ranger District.
STEVENSVILLE- Fire officials report that they've been able to keep the South Alder Fire from spreading beyond 30 acres. The lightning-caused fire is burning in heavy timber about 10 miles east of Stevensville on the Missoula Ranger District.
KALISPELL- Flathead National Forest officials report that a series of wildfires have prompted the closure of several trails. The Elbow Pass Complex Fire and Prisoner Lake Fire burning in the Flathead National Forest portion of the Bob Marshall Wilderness have prompted forest officials to close trails for public safety reasons.
WEST GLACIER- Glacier National Park officials say the disappearance of a hiker over the weekend serves as an important reminder for everyone hiking in the park to always let someone know where you're going.
From the StormTracker Weather Center: A ridge of high pressure continues to hold steady over the Rockies bringing us lots of sunshine today. We'll see temperatures a few degrees cooler today than yesterday with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s.
