POLSON- Crews are continuing to gain on the 9,800 acre West Garceau Fire which is burning 15 miles west of Ronan, with the latest numbers showing the blaze is now 65% contained.
Nearly 320 people are assigned to the fire which sparked to life near Hot Springs on August 13th and was pushed east by strong winds.

Firefighters plan to continue to work on improving the firelines on the blaze and officials estimate that the blaze may be fully contained by Friday evening.
However, fire managers say heavy fuels and steep terrain continue to hamper suppression efforts, especially along the southern flanks of the fire.
