WHITEFISH - The Whitefish City Council is discussing options for a site for a new cemetery. The city bought Armory Park in the late 1950s with the original intent of developing it as a cemetery.
During a Tuesday work session, council members will look over findings of a study that shows the ground water levels in Armory Park are too high to be a cemetery.
The study found the minimum depth for no ground water to prevent pollution was nine feet.
The city council also plans on discussing free market models for cemeteries from other cities and a possible budget for another municipal cemetery during Tuesday's session.
