MISSOULA- Tuesday's strong winds caused numerous power outages across Western Montana.
A tree fell on this poweline in the Target Range area causing some power outages in that area while the storm also knocked out power to the stoplights at Reserve and Brooks, with Missoula police directing traffic through the very busy intersection.
NorthWestern Energy spokeswoman Claudia Rapcoch says about 7,500 customers across the Missoula Valley were without power at some point Tuesday, but added that most were back on by 11:30 a.m.
A Ravalli Electric Cooperative spokesperson told Montana's News Station that residents north and south of Stevensville were also without power due to a tree falling on one of the main transmission lines.
Power outages were also reported in the Florence and Lolo areas at the height off the wind event.
