UPDATE: MISSOULA- Winds gusting over 30 mph have hit the Missoula area Tuesday morning, knocking out power to some and bringing down small trees and branches across parts of Western Montana.

The winds hit several areas in the Miller Creek and Linda Vista area with our reporter on the scene reporting that several roofs were damaged by debris and small trees along with branches littered the ground.

The traffic lights at Brooks Street and South Reserve have been on-and-off for about an hour and we have heard reports of several trees being brought down in Missoula as well as along Lakeside Drive in Lolo.

The winds have knocked out power to parts of Missoula and Lolo and lights were flickering in Missoula as well. A viewer let us know that power is out in part of the Florence area as well.

Winds knocked down some branches down and damaged some signs in the Upper Miller Creek area. We are hearing that trees have come down in the O'Brien Creek and Blue Mountain Road area as well.

Severe weather hit parts of the Flathead earlier on Tuesday with hail reported between one-quarter inch and one inch in Lakeside, Rollins and Columbia Falls.
