MISSOULA - A woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after her car was rear-ended on Mullan Road around 3:30 p.m. near mile marker 5.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Pfau says the woman's car was stopped in the middle of the road when she was rear-ended by a Jeep, and pushed about 100 yards off the road onto a field. Pfau says the driver of the Jeep said she had looked away, and when she looked up she rear-ended the car.

Pfau said the victim was conscious and talking when she was taken to the hospital, but her injuries are unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
