MISSOULA- The University of Montana has put out a campus warning following a reported early morning assault and robbery on campus.
According to a statement posted on UM's website, a female says she was punched and robbed at around midnight Wednesday, just west of the tennis courts. Missoula police say the male took her wallet and fled on foot, according to a news release.
The suspect is described as being a white male in his early 20s, who was about 6' feet tall with blond hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and jeans.
The statement says the Missoula Police Department is investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Missoula Police Department at (406) 552.6300, or Crimestoppers at (406) 721.4444.
The University of Montana sent out a text alerts to students about the situation beginning just before 9 a.m. and also posted a statement on their main website.
