GREAT FALLS- A woman was taken to the hospital for scrapes, bruises and neck pain after she rolled her car on Highway 87 just north of Great Falls Saturday afternoon.
The Montana Highway Patrol, Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, Great Falls Emergency Services, and Chouteau County Sheriff Deputies responded to mile marker 16 on U.S. Highway 87 just after 1:15 p.m.
Troopers say said they believe the woman was traveling northbound when she crossed over the center line, over corrected, and rolled over into a field nearby.
Sheriff deputies said she climbed out of her car and was walking around before crews got there and an ambulance transported the woman to the hospital. Officers said she is "lucky to be alive."
Along with other debris scattered around the car, firefighters found the exhaust pipe to her car about 70 yards away. Underneath were torch marks on the grass where it landed.
Firefighters said they are also lucky it did not start the field on fire.
