Wildlife officials are investigating a report that a wounded grizzly bear may be wandering in the Butcher Creek Area near Trego, northwest of Whitefish.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service could not find the bear in a search this weekend. Anyone camping or hiking in the area should be careful and report grizzly sightings to FWP officials. A press release did not offer further information.
