MISSOULA - High school sports are back, and while Friday and Saturday will be busy on the basketball court in Missoula, the wrestlers had all the fun on Thursday.
The defending champion Glacier Wolfpack came to Sentinel for a duel. The Spartans beat Glacier for the Polson Invite title over the weekend.
The Wolfpack's Dawson Day got the pin over Colin Hammock to give Glacier six points on to their tally at 189 pounds. But it would not be enough this evening, because at 171, Tanner Price pinned Wyatt Clay.
The Spartans took down Glacier, 50-31.
Meanwhile over at Big Sky, the Eagles grappled with the Flathead Braves.
Flathead's Mitchell Stivers battled Big Sky's Jason Riekena at 171, with Stivers up in the second before he eventually earned the pin.
But Big Sky would get the last laugh as the Eagles' Luke Entzel pulled off the reversal on Suny Cheff for the only two points of the match to earn the victory.
Big Sky downed Flathead, 49-30.
