HELENA - A charity run took a unique turn when the undead showed up to chase the runners.
Helena Industries hosted their first annual Zombie Escape Run to benefit their programs for community members with disabilities.
Runners tackled a 5K while trying to dodge the undead. Each runner was given a belt and three flags, and the zombie's job was to grab those flags as runners zoom by.
Each "zombies" participating got a special makeover from Lewis and Clark County Search and Rescue, which uses those types of wounds for training, so the collaboration was perfect.
The proceeds will benefit Helena Industries' programs, which include job training and Work First, which gives people with disabilties the opportunity to work and earn money.
