A Montana electronics chain is under investigation by the FBI.

A former employee of Vann's Incorporated has confirmed with MTN News that former workers have received letters informing them that they may be victims of a crime.

Vann's was started in Montana back in the 1960s, and filed for bankruptcy in 2012. That same year, a civil suit was filed against CEO George Manlove and CFO Paul Nisbet, alleging that the lavishly spent company money on personal expenses. The suit was settled and employees received some of the lost money.

The current investigation concerns the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and how the company handled retirement benefits.

Vann's was eventually sold and the new owners closed stores in Missoula, Kalispell, and Hamilton.
