Missoula Co. Commission backs Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Project

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

The Missoula County Commission announced its support of the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Project today.

The Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Project proposal will permanently protect 87,000 acres of recommended wilderness in the Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness.

The proposal calls for a trails study, and to establish a snowmobile recreational area near Ovando, among others.

The Montana Wilderness Association is hoping to receive full delegate support of their latest proposal.

"It's pretty exciting, and we're hoping that the ten years of hard work that's gone into this effort to date will be rewarded with the support of our whole delegation," said MWA Field Director Zack Porter

Tomorrow's event is at the Missoula Library at 5:30 p.m.
