Missoula Weekend brings music town

Posted: Updated:

The Top Hat rocked out Saturday night to outlaw county as Montana native Ryan Chrys brought his Denver based band "Ryan Chrys and the Rough Cuts" back to Missoula. The band also played in the Philipsburg Brewery Sunday -- Ryan Chrys's hometown.

They will be returning to Missoula for the Downtown Tonight summer concert series that takes place on July 25. He says live music is important to communities like Missoula.

"What live music is for communities like Missoula, it's a way of connection between people, its a way of having fun, a good time, meeting people enjoying yourself," said Chrys.

The Missoula Weekend arts and events schedule was packed Sunday. At 7 p.m., the Bellamy Brothers and Gabriel Rutledge are playing at the Dennison Theater for the Missoula County Deputy Sheriff's Association annual concert.

From 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Zootown Brew on Broadway, the Missoula Public Library is hosting Literary Trivia night.

The Wilma Theater is hosting the Robert Cray Band tonight at 8 p.m. for a seated performance by the five time Grammy winning blues guitarist Robert Cray.
