HAMILTON -

An aggressive radio ad campaign is firing up the race for Ravalli County District Court judge just days before the General Election.

The challenger who developed the ads -- Robert Myers -- says he's trying to tell the stories of people who he says have been victimized by sitting Judge Jeffery Langton, who says there's no truth to the accusations.

The first ad -- that accuses Langton of drug and alcohol use -- began airing on local radio stations at the beginning of the week.

A second ad is dropping overnight which purports to tell the story of another woman claiming her daughter was raped after Langton mishandled a custody case.

Myers says the two ads are just the "tip of the iceberg," but Langton is saying there's no truth at all to Myers' claims. The ads build on the contention which prompted ethics complaints against Myers before the primary in June.

MTN News spoke directly with Myers and Judge Langton about their views of the confrontation. That report will air on the Thursday 5:30 News.
