Whitefish city leaders say they can't take action on a permit application for a proposed white supremacist march through the city because the document is incomplete.

In a statement issued by City Manager Chuck Stearns, he writes that the city received an "incomplete application" for a special event from the Daily Stormer website Monday in the mail.

Writers with the anti-Semitic website previously called for an armed march through the city, saying they will feature speakers to discuss the "international threat of the Jews."

The application requests use of 2nd Street from Memorial Park to City Hall on Martin Luther King Junior Day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Stearns tells KAJ the city is reviewing the application, but cannot take action on it because the application is incomplete. He adds that the police department continues to refine plans to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
