FRENCHTOWN -

Students call a Frenchtown High School teacher accused of sexual misconduct a "life changer" who has inspired them to be better, more creative individuals. The statements of support come even as investigators confirm a second student is leveling accusations.

More than 50-current and former students, and their parents attended a Tuesday evening Frenchtown School Board meeting to show support for music teacher Troy Bashor, as stories have emerged accusing of sexual misconduct in recent weeks.

The initial complaint was filed by one female student who is accusing Bashor of inappropriate touching in the high school's auditorium. And now, the Missoula County Sheriff's Office confirming a second student is making similar allegations which are being investigated.

Bashor was initially placed on leave while school administrators looked into the case, but he has since returned to work. Missoula County Justice Court had issued a restraining order for the first student.

But the mood Tuesday was one of overwhelming support. The board wasn't scheduled to take any action and merely listened to Bashor's supporters.

"I've spent a lot of time with him and I can say he's an amazing person. He has always been there for me and countless people and I would not be who I am today without him," one student said.

"I'm going to be a music teacher because of him. He's just inspired me that much. And ever since I met him I know that I wanted to be just like him," commented another student.

"He is an absolutely irreplaceable part of our community and our school. And I think is just such a great disservice to him. And he's just changed by life completely," a Frenchtown student said.

"I've had problems multiple times and I've always gone to him. This man's a life changer. He saved my life," another student said to applause.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office confirmed with MTN News on Tuesday that their investigation into the incident is still underway.

Bashor has not publicly committed on these allegations with his attorney telling MTN News that Bashor has done nothing wrong.
