HAMILTON -

A power outage that hit Hamilton on Wednesday morning is being blamed on a squirrel.

Traffic lights went dark and 2,500 customers lost their power.

NorthWestern Energy spokesman Butch Larcombe reports that affected customers included part of downtown, the northside and others south of town.

The utility says it appears that a squirrel caused the outage and reports all power was restored as of 10:45 a.m.
