KALISPELL -

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says the victim of a murder in Evergreen is 34-year-old Anthony Andrew Walthers.

In a release issued Saturday, Curry says that Walthers is a transient from the Kalispell area. Official reports reveal that just after 7 p.m Wednesday, authorities received a report of a man in the Flathead River near the Old Steel Bridge.

As we previously reported, Cecil Thomas Rice and Heath Joy Meeker both face homicide charges following the death of Walthers.

Curry reports that the case is still under investigation, adding that a third man reportedly on the bridge at the time of the incident has been ruled out as a suspect following interviews with authorities.

Deputies and search and rescue members are still searching the Flathead River for Walthers' body.
