DCI administrator Bryan Lockerby calls the investigation complex, involving a dynamic multi-county crime scene. He told MTN News that the investigation will be as thorough as possible.
“You have physical evidence, possible video, you have radio traffic, you have people to interview. And this is a traumatic event. You have, I mean, it’s horribly traumatic. Emotionally it affects all of us,” Lockerby said.
“I’ve been in this career field for over 35-years. Unfortunately, some of my friends have also passed away in situations like this and it’s not like you see in the movies. These are scars you bear for a very long time and they never really go away,” he added.
According to the Montana Law Enforcement Museum, Moore is the 129th Montana peace officer to be killed in the line of duty -- and the fifth since 2010.
