MISSOULA -

Missoula law enforcement continue to mourn the loss of Broadwater County Sheriff’s deputy Mason Moore and say it is a reminder just how dangerous their jobs can be.

Both the Missoula Police Department and Missoula County Sheriff's Office will be sending officers and deputies to represent Missoula at a memorial service for Moore in Belgrade next week, and offer their support to those affected by this loss.

Each department says Montana law enforcement share a brotherhood and are deeply saddened when they lose on of their own.

"What he was doing when he was killed, is something that we do everyday," said Missoula Police Sergeant Travis Welsh. "And so it does cause some deep reflection and it hits us hard as individuals, as a department and as a state."

"Montana's law enforcement community is really a very small community and we're all very tight," said MCSO Captain David Conway. "And so losing someone even at a distance is a huge loss to all of us. And our hearts, our prayers, and our thoughts really go out to the family of that fallen officer. And also as well to the officers who were involved in that pursuit."

Services for Moore have been scheduled for Tuesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. in Belgrade. The funeral will take place at the Bridge Church, located at 608 North Jackrabbit Lane.

Due to space limitations, the service at the Bridge Church is for immediate family and law enforcement officers.
