This Montana Made segment takes us to Cascade where reporter Mackenzie Lee checked out Parker's Hangover Tonic, a Bloody Mary mix created by Amy Eisenzimer.
"I do recommend this to customers that are hungover...a little hair of the dog always helps," Eisenzimer joked.
Parker's Hangover Tonic is a hot sauce based Bloody Mary mix in concentrate form which means you can make 24 drinks from one 24 ounce bottle.
After years of enjoying her Bloody Mary's, friends and family encouraged Amy to sell the recipe she had perfected.
"You never get the same drink twice with a Bloody Mary. So it was my thought [was] wouldn't it be nice if you could get the same thing all the time," Eisenzimer said. "So, I just started messing around with different concoctions and recipes. It's just a nice combination of spices"
Amy wants to keep those five ingredients a secret but said it's no secret how much people love Parker's Hangover Tonic. After all, it's now being sold in over 300 locations in seven states.
"Word of mouth has been amazing for me. I don't think you realize that until you're in those situations where I hear somebody say, 'have you heard about Parker's?' When I'm actually sitting in the room and nobody knows who I am," Eisenzimer said.
She mixes, bottles, and labels all of her hangover tonics and said she didn't know what to expect when she began.
"My expectations when I started were -- I didn't have any. I was truly going into the unknown and had no idea," Eisenzimer said.
Eisenzimer says she's been surprised and excited about how the product has evolved.
"I have a lot of people, that some people don't drink so they cook with it, some people do both. It's turned into this multi-use product which I think is a great thing."
One of Eisenzimer's favorite recipes using Parker's is deviled eggs with blue cheese crumbles on top. During the summer, she mixes it up with some flavored vodka.
"Actually one of my favorites is cucumber vodka with a Bloody Mary or Caesar which is very refreshing and nice," Eisenzimer said, adding that she hasn't come up with all of the concoctions herself, some she learned from her customers.
"I always love to hear from people about new recipes, or if you take Parker's somewhere, I love snapshots on Instagram on Facebook," Eisenzimer said. "I just love to hear it all because it makes me pretty happy just to know everybody is enjoying our product."
New Parker's Hangover Tonic recipes are posted on their website every month.
