Kalispell Regional Healthcare debuts online primary care service

Posted: Updated:

In the Flathead Valley there's a new, convenient way to seek primary care 24-hours-a day and 7-days-a-week and without leaving home. All you need is an internet connection.

Kalispell Regional Healthcare recently opened its newest clinic, KRH Care Anywhere, online.

KRH Care Anywhere connects patients to a medical provider through a smartphone, tablet or computer via an internet connection.

"There a whole generation or maybe two generations of folks that use online devices to access all kinds of services and products," said KRH Executive Director of Telehealth Services Kip Smith. "And this is a way for healthcare to look at how we efficiently and effectively use the technology that's out there with smartphones and tablets and online service."

The 24/7 virtual clinic provides round-the-clock access to medical providers for common conditions like coughs, colds, ear aches and sore throats.

KRH Care Anywhere is staffed by board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners. Patients are charged a flat fee of $45 for each visit.

Smith says they're mission is to increase access to medical care in the Flathead Valley.

"It's a huge new addition to the community," Smith said. "We're very aware that we, well even though we have extended hour and our Emergency Room is open 24/7, you know for basic urgent primary care services, we don't have 24 hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week coverage and this is a way to try to bridge that."

Virtual Visits typically last about 20 minutes and no appointment is necessary. You can click here to visit KRH Care Anywhere.
