The road closure on Thompson River Road that connects U.S. Highway 2 near Happy's Inn to the Bend Ranger Station has been lifted.

Fire managers report that the 1,145 acre Lazier Creek 3 fire is now 70% contained as it continues to burn above The Thompson River.

Meanwhile, the Rogers Mountain fire has burned 78 acres with containment growing to 90%. The fire is located three miles northwest of Happy’s Inn.

The smaller Grubb, Northwest Meadow Peak and 2645 fires are all now fully contained.

A Type II Fire Incident Management team is coordinating the attack on the lightning sparked wildfires.

There are 436 people assigned to the fires which are all burning along the Highway 2 corridor.
