MISSOULA -

A new fitness and running program that starts this week in Missoula is putting fun and friendship into getting in shape.

Run Wild Missoula will begin a new 10-week class based on the Jeff Galloway ‘run-walk-run’ interval style of running often seen during the Missoula Marathon or other races.

The "Run Walk Run" method makes it easy for ‘non-runners’ to enjoy the sport and helps those who are recovering from injury get back on the road. It's a gentle, pain-free way to enjoy the sport at your own pace.

This “Get in Shape” program kicks off this weekend and will meet once a week to get folks ready for several fun runs that are coming up this fall.

"What I especially like about this is that it's a way to use the Jeff Galloway style or run-walk-run interval training--we've offered classes like that for years to get people ready for a half marathon or a marathon race," said Pam Gardiner with Run Wild Missoula. "Now we're using it to help people get in shape and get ready to run a 5K or a three-mile race."

The class will meet on Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. Click here for more information.
