Investigation continues after girl dies after being hit by vehicle in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS -

A 7-year-old girl died after being hit by a vehicle in Great Falls on Wednesday evening.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on the 1200 block of Valley View Drive on the northwest side of Great Falls.

The child was then taken to Benefis Health System, but died from her injuries.

The child's name has not been released.

The Great Falls Police Department said in a press release late Thursday morning that investigators do not believe the incident "stems from any criminal action or activity."

The GFPD says that the incident did not involve a driver speeding down the street.


A community is in mourning after the tragic loss of a young child.

Sources tell MTN News a 7-year-old girl is dead after being hit by a car in Great Falls on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the Valley View neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

Witnesses told MTN News that emergency responders performed CPR on the child at the scene near the intersection of Avenue C NW and Valley View Drive.

The child was then taken to Benefis Health System, but died from her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Police are continuing to investigate.
