HAMILTON - After firing multiple shots in the direction of others, a Hamilton man is charged with two counts of felony assault with a weapon.

According to court documents, 38-year-old James Leroy Garrison was arrested on Sunday after he shot at others, causing one man to break both of his wrists while fleeing from Garrison.

Witnesses say in court documents that Garrison and another man were drinking when they got into an argument.

The man who fled the home after shots were fired ran off an embankment and down into Skalkaho Creek, when he was injured.

According to court documents, Ravalli County deputies later discovered a revolver in the defendant’s pocket with six spent rounds and an AK style 22 caliber rifle slung over his shoulder.

He is also charged with felony criminal endangerment, and misdemeanor theft. The rifle was stolen out of New York.
