POLSON - A recent donation will be bringing Automatic External Defibrillators on the road in the Mission Valley.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says a recently awarded a $25,000 grant from a local family foundation will be used to supply each sworn deputy with an AED. The money will also be used to install an AED in the main Lake County Courthouse lobby.

One of the conditions of the grant called for an updated training session in CPR and the use of AED's for deputies, according to Sheriff Bell.

"Oftentimes, our deputies are the very first responder on critical scenes requiring CPR and other First Aid.  This generous donation from a caring family will help us even better serve the community and further our mission to provide for the safety of our citizens," Sheriff Bell said in a statement. "It is greatly appreciated, and we will undoubtedly save even more lives with this technology."
