MISSOULA - The current job market is great for the workforce, but tough on employers because of an increased challenge finding skilled workers.

This trend has also made its way to seasonal work, particularly in the retail space.

Businesses in the Southgate Mall were having so many issues, that they reached out to the Missoula Job Service to coordinate a seasonal job fair in an effort to bring in more people.

Missoula Job Service management say the fair was a success and are hopeful it will help Missoula businesses get the bodies they need for the busy holiday rush.

“Retail and all other employers in town, we're starting to see wages go up a little bit because it is so competitive right now. Flexible schedules, working with student schedules is an important thing also," said Missoula Job Services supervisor Kristi Harman.

Don Fisher goes On Special Assignment during the Thursday 10:00 News to take an in-depth look at the issue.
