A room full of veterans enjoyed breakfast with Senator Steve Daines on Friday morning.
To kick off the Veterans Day weekend, Senator Daines invited veterans and active duty military men and women to join him for coffee and donuts.
During the breakfast, veterans had the opportunity to speak with one another about their personal experiences.
They learned about the Senators' Veterans History Project, a project that records veterans speaking of their responsibilities and sacrifices for future generations to hear.
Senator Daines tells us he was raised with principles of service and sacrifice for this country. His father was a U.S. Marine who served with the Billings 341st Marine Rifle Company.
Senator Daines said Americans have such an amazing country because of the men and women who sacrificed themselves.
"Veterans Day is about saying two words, 'thank you,'" Senator Daines said. "So when we see a veteran like we did here today, say thank you. Thank you for what you have done for our nation."
