Missoula woman gets surprise gift from Chicks N Chaps

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - An ordinary Wednesday became an extraordinary one for one Missoula woman undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Collette Anderson returned from a work errand at her job with the Western Montana Clinic and found her office filled with food and smiling strangers.  She then realized she was being given a $2,500 check from Missoula's Chicks N Chaps to help with her treatments.

Collette's co-workers approached the organization to see if it could help ease her burden cancer treatments often bring -- and Chicks N Chaps stepped up and gave Collette an amazing surprise.

Collette Anderson "I feel very blessed with the people that I work with and to know there are other people out there that are taking an interest in supporting me," Anderson said.

"It's so amazing to be able to meet people and to help them. It's part of our mission to help local women and their families and it's wonderful to meet them and hear their stories," added Kirsten Cooper with Chicks N Chaps.

Chicks N Chaps helps several women each year. They raise a large portion of their money with the August Women's Rodeo Clinic at the Western Montana Fair each year.
