Missoula police helping Christmas come early for Missoula kids

Posted: Updated:

Cabella’s partners with the Missoula Police Department to give kids in need and their families a day of gifts and fun for the holidays. Detective Arianna Adams is helping organize this special time for the second year.

“So when the kids walk in with their families, they are greeted by an officer, and that officer will take them to the jackets section, and they get to pick out a jacket, and then Cabella’s will surprise them with another gift,” Adams said.

They go home with a brand new winter coat, and a new friend.

“Usually when kids see us it will be in times of crisis, and I think its an opportunity to see us, and have fun with us, and talk with us.”

18 kids and their families will have the opportunity to “Shop with A Cop” this holiday season.

“As a community member, it is important for me to make sure, and to know that kids are getting cared for, and I’m doing my small part in helping that.”

Missoula County Public Schools selects the kids from their student body to participate.
