Name of pedestrian killed in Missoula released

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - Authorities have released the name of the local woman who died after being hit by a vehicle on Saturday evening.

Missoula County Undersheriff Rich Maricelli says Jill Jenkins, 46, who lived in the Missoula area, but was originally from the Bitterroot Valley, died in the accident.

Jenkins died from blunt force trauma, and the death has been ruled accidental by investigators, according to Maricelli. She was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of South Russell Street and McDonald Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor, however, a Missoula Police Department investigation into the incident is continuing.
