KPAX/KAJ Holiday Food Drive

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - The need for basic necessities like food continues to grow in Western Montana, no matter the time of year.  KPAX TV and First Security Bank are proud to announce the kick off our annual Holiday Food Drive.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. The holiday food drive has collected over 10,000 pounds of food as of Dec. 21.  People can still drop off their non-perishable food items at any First Security Bank or Glacier Bank branch in the Missoula or Kalispell areas until the close of business on friday, Dec. 22.

"It's devastating when we sit back and realize how many of our neighbors don't realize where their next meal may be coming from. So whatever we can do to assist, the only reason our institution has been successful is because of the community we serve," First Security Bank President Scott Burke. "So, whatever we can do in any manner, small or big, to assist those that are most in need, that's what we are here for."

Folks can stop by any First Security Bank locations -- including the eight in Missoula -- and drop off cash or non-perishable food items.

"Personally I cannot imagine in today's society that a person has to think of the basic necessities of food and not knowing where that's going to come from," Burke said. "So for me, it's very personal and it should not be happening in a community like Missoula Montana or anywhere throughout the United States."

Folks can drop off their non-perishable food donation at any First Security Bank or Glacier Bank location in Flathead County. All your food donations stay right here in Western Montana.
