SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- A Facebook video that shows an act of child abuse has sparked outrage online.

10News received multiple tips regarding the video, which was posted at about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday on a San Diego woman's Facebook page.

In the post, a video clip shows a person's hand striking a baby's head three times, leading to the child crying. The post also includes two images showing a child holding a knife.

Shortly after the video was posted, police said they received multiple calls from people concerned about the post and the suicidal threats made by the child's mother.

Police have since located both the mother and the child and are currently investigating.

The video has garnered over 25,000 views since it was posted.

San Diego police did not immediately provide 10News with the identity of the mother and child.

Anyone who has information on the child or the mother is urged to contact San Diego police.
