KALISPELL - The Downtown Plan for Kalispell was voted on tonight after months of deliberation and public comment.
The Kalispell City Council voted unanimously on Monday evening to pass the downtown plan with a ll of the council members who spoke about the plan having high praise for it. There were also two public comments, both in support of the plan.
The plan is essentially an outline for what the city wants to achieve in the future and what they hope downtown will look like. Some of the most talked about parts of the plan were what to do with the couplet around the court house, how many lanes to make Main Street and how to make Main Street more pedestrian friendly.
Kalispell City Manager Doug Russell emphasized that nothing in this plan was set in stone but just a good reference of how to move forward with the revitalization of downtown.
