Tree of Life ceremony held in Missoula

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - The holidays can be a time to celebrate your closest family and friends, but also miss the ones who we have lost.

The Tree of Life Ceremony takes place during the darkest time of year in Missoula – to bring a light those who need it most.

“The holidays can be stressful – even distressing for folks going through the holidays and having to deal with a lot that comes at them through just the cultural stuff the holidays bring,” said Chaplain Dan Dixson.

“Sometimes it’s nice to have something that is – doesn’t speak in that same language of holidays and Christmas carols, but is a way to talk about light in the darkness,” Dixon added.

The event was held on Tuesday evening in Missoula’s Rose Park.
