HAMILTON - Authorities in the Bitterroot are looking for the public's help as they continue to investigate a burglary case.

The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office reports the incident happened on Nov. 24 at approximately 4 a.m.  in the 400 block of Bass Lane east of Corvallis.

Sheriff Steve Holton said that during the early morning hours a suspect approximately 5' 10" tall and wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up, attempted to enter one structure and then did enter another home.

When confronted by the homeowner, the suspect dropped a purse they had taken from the home and fled on foot traveling west on Bass Lane, according to Sheriff Holton.

While investigating the case, two compound bows were discovered on the victim's property that did not belong to the property owner.

The Sheriff's Office is asking neighborhood residents in the Bass Lane area to inventory their property.  If anything appears stolen, please contact the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office at (406) 363-3033 to make a report.

Sheriff Holton also asked that anyone that might have information about the case to contact the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office or Five Valley Crimestoppers at (406) 721-4444.

Callers to Crimestoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
