HAMILTON - Ravalli County prosecutors are filing multiple charges against a man who they say was driving at more than 100 mph while drunk.
Prosecutors say the incident started shortly after Ravalli County deputies spotted a black Dodge Charger that had been seen driving recklessly in the parking lot of a convenience store at the "Wye" in Stevensville, and later nearly rammed into the back of a semi at an estimated speed of 120 mph.
One deputy had spotted the car traveling upwards of 100 mph but lost sight of it near Victor. A second deputy then saw the car as it sped toward her, swerving and then cutting its lights and trying to hide off the main road. She discovered the driver had been drinking and took him into custody.
The driver, later identified as Austin Alan Parson, now faces charges of criminal endangerment and drunk driving and later causing damage at the jail.
