Missoulians kick off 2018 with foggy morning run

Posted: Updated:

MISSOULA - 2018 kicked off with bang for some people in Missoula who are looking forward to having a more active year ahead.

Run Wild Missoula and Runner’s Edge sponsor the annual January 1 Resolution Run that hopes to get runners off on the right foot.

It was foggy and chilly Monday morning, but there was loud music and lots of cheering as people crossed the finish line.

About 500 people ran the timed, 5K race that snaked through the Rattlesnake neighborhood near Rattlesnake Elementary.

One group of friends say they look forward to running more in the new year with friends.

“I’m going to try to reach out to some people I have not spoken to for a long time. That’s one of my goals for the year. But just to have more runs and spend time with these running friends," said Patty Murphy, who ran Monday morning.

Runners warmed up after the race with hot soup.
